Latest Quit Smoking ad reminds Australians ‘every time you quit you get a little better at it’
Cancer NSW has launched its latest Quit Smoking campaign telling Australians “every time you quit you get a little better at it”.
The 30 second ad, reused from a 2015 campaign, goes through one man’s journey of attempting to quit smoking three times, explaining each time gets a bit easier.
The first time he quit he lasted three days and caved after having a beer, the second time he quit he lasted six weeks but his girlfriend said he was too grumpy so she gave him a cigarette.
The third time the man gave up smoking he put out his cigarette and never lit another one.
“Never give up giving up” is the tagline used at the conclusion of the ad.
BWM Dentsu is the agency of record for Cancer Institute NSW.
This campaign isn’t new, this is the 2015 campaign, it’s even in the same YouTube channel.
Is this a mistake?

Thanks for pointing that out, MD. The campaign itself is new but it appears the ad has been re-used. We’ve amended the story to reflect that.

I totally agree with this. Quitting is a long and difficult process. Patting yourself in the back every time you say no to temptation can be really helpful!
