Leading CMO joins Australian Marketing Institute board

The Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) has announced the appointment of local chief marketing officer, Kathryn Illy, to its board.

AMI board chair, Andrew Thornton, confirmed the news on Wednesday.

“Kathryn brings to the AMI Board over 20 years of industry experience in B2B and B2C marketing across financial services and professional services,” Thornton said.

“Kathryn started her career in advertising and has worked extensively across all marketing disciplines including brand, digital marketing, direct marketing, product marketing, events, communications, media and partnerships. A strategic, commercial and creative thinker, she has led large, global teams of professionals to deliver business and marketing strategies with proven results.

“I believe Kathryn will make a significant contribution to the Board, our members and the wider marketing profession.”

Illy currently works as the general manager of consumer marketing at Destination NSW, and has previously held a number of leadership roles, including director of brand and marketing at PwC Australia, head of marketing at Macquarie Group and senior marketing manager at CommSec.
