Leading media experts to head up Boomtown masterclass

Boomtown’s next masterclass will play host to senior female media experts from Woolworths, Flintfox International and Magna Global, as they discuss the power of regional media advertising.

Magna Global’s managing director, Lucy Formosa Morgan is the first of the trio joining the November masterclass – a session to be moderated by Wade Kingsley, founder of The Ideas Business. Morgan’s has held her managing director position at the IPG Mediabrands’ intelligence and media investment body for over two years.

Before her current role, Morgan served as NOVA Entertainment’s commercial operations director. She also holds more than ten years of experience at PHD, serving as the company’s chief investment officer and national managing director throughout her time there.

The second person on the panel is Nicole Smart, general manager of group media and media planning at Woolworths Group. A long-time marketing and media professional, Smart spent nearly 15 years at Optus, joining the telecommunications organisation in October 2008 as a channel marketing manager.

Over the years, she worked her way through the company’s ranks, becoming its director for media, marketing operations and performance marketing in April 2021 and finishing up her stint in mid-2023.

The last member of the masterclass panel is Cath Brands. Currently acting as the chief marketing and innovation officer at smart pricing platform, Flintfox International, Brands’ multi-country career has seen her work in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Australia and more, working at well-known corporations such as Amazon, Microsoft and the Coca-Cola Company.

During the masterclass, Brands, Morgan and Smart will be focusing on how brands can effectively leverage Boomtown to connect with regional Australian audiences. They will also look at why agencies should factor regional media campaigns into their yearly budgets.

“There is significant momentum in Boomtown. Brand and agency uptake of regional advertising platforms continues to increase, in-line with the growing Boomtown audience and brand campaign successes,” said Leanne Glamuzina, marketing lead at Boomtown.

“Our education program is a critical part of the growth of Boomtown. Our quarterly masterclasses play an important role in educating marketing and media professionals on the power of regional media campaigns.

Participants have the opportunity to hear directly from marketing experts on their experience with Boomtown and why it’s become a non-negotiable in their advertising strategies.

“Our November Masterclass is set to feature a powerhouse trio – three women who have a wealth of marketing experience. Their insights on the regional advertising landscape and results that can be achieved for brands will be incredibly valuable for any agency or advertisers considering a Boomtown campaign.”

Boomtown’s Masterclass series has seen undeniable success. To date, the educational offering has trained “more than 2,000 Australian advertising and media professionals on the benefits of Boomtown advertising.”
