Leo Burnett creates Honda’s first ever Australian brand TV ad

Leo Burnett Melbourne has launched Honda’s first ever Australian television commercial, ‘Moving You’.

The one-minute ad promotes the new Walking Assist technology Honda has created to help stroke victims walk again.

Despite fine print on the screen saying “Walking Assist, ASIMO and HondaJet are not available in Australia”, the ad shows Honda’s design boat motors and jets as well.

Jason Williams, chief creative officer at Leo Burnett Melbourne, said in a statement: “While other manufacturers obsess over what a product can do, Honda dreams about how it can seamlessly complement and advance our lives.”

Stephen Collins, the director of Honda Australia said the new TV ads show Honda’s commitment to enriching people’s lives through technology.

Scott McGregor, GM of customer and communications at Honda Australia, said in a statement: “The creative brief for this campaign was quite clear — putting the customer at the centre of everything we do – the Honda story is emotive and passionate, and we feel this campaign reflects this.

“This will play a key role in engaging a new generation of customers for Honda, because there is real substance behind what we are saying.”
