King will be charged with expanding the agency’s strategic capabilities to drive new and innovative partnerships with clients that meet the dynamic opportunities of today’s cultural and commercial landscape.

King’s appointment grows Leo Burnett’s strategic practice, and her role will work in partnership with current head of strategy market leads in Sydney and Melbourne.

Leo Burnett CEO, Emma Montgomery, said: “King and I met six years ago, and I’ve been wanting to work together ever since. Her unique ability to look at problems from a number of vantage points gives us the adaptability and flexibility that modern strategy needs, and will help open up new avenues for our clients. Together with the wider strategy crew, this is going to be a formidable team.”

King added: “Leo Burnett has undeniable consistency when it comes to impact, character and calibre over the course of time. Partnering with Emma and the team to build the next evolution of our strategic product for our clients is something I can’t wait to get started on.”

Howartson + Company are in the market for a new CSO, and expect to make an announcement early new year.
