Leo Burnett’s BYO Cup Day leads Aussie campaigns at Mobius Awards

BYO Cup Day wins big at Mobius Awards for Leos Melbourne

Leo Burnett Melbourne was the stand-out Australian agency at the 2012 Mobius Awards for its BYO Cup Day campaign for client 7-Eleven.

The campaign won three first places, one for Branded Content/Entertainment, one for New Media-Social Media and a third for the BYO Cup Day Integrated Case Study for Integrated Campaigns. The agency previously received a Silver Lion at Cannes for the campaign.

The agency also won a first place in Direct Physical Mail for Box of Curiosities, a promotion for The Famous Spiegeltent.

Rounding out Leo’s awards was a second place certificate for Outstanding Creativity for bike company Giant in the Direct-Other category.

Australian agencies picked up a total of 11 awards across the competition including two more First places for VFX.

Production company FSM won a gold for the campaign Make It Possible for charity Animals Australia in the Cinema & In-Flight category. The campaign was created by agency Loud while Brisbane VFX company Alt.vfx won for its work on Foxtel’s Olympic TVC Seeing is Believing by agency Clemenger BBDO Sydney and Curious Films.

Ogilvy Melbourne won two second place certificates in the direct-physical mail section; as did BMW with Welcome for BMW, and Fuelling Imaginations for client Arts Centre Melbourne.

Host received a certificate for their Kiwi Sceptics campaign in the Branded Content/Entertainment category while Adelaide agency Showpony Advertising won in the Print-Poster category for wine client McLaren Vale and its campaign Sea and Vines.

The US-based Mobius Advertising Awards recognise work across a range of media; brochure/book, cinema-in-flight, direct, mixed media campaign, new media, online, outdoor, package design, point-of-purchase, print, radio, television, and student.
