Let them eat cake! MasterChef takes entertainment crown: Nine wins Wednesday

MasterChef on Ten won entertainment for a fourth time this week on Wednesday, however, it was Nine that once again celebrated an overall network share win.

The episode aired to an average of 583,000 metro viewers, followed by The Chase Australia which brought in 545,000 metro viewers.

Next in entertainment was ABC’s Gruen which pulled in 536,000 metro viewers, followed by Australian Ninja Warrior with a metro audience of 500,000 viewers.

The Weekly with Charlie Pickering on ABC was next grabbing 475,000 metro viewers, while Seven’s Home and Away brought in an average metro audience of 433,000.

The 2022 Wimbledon nighttime session saw 343,000 metro viewers tune in.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 29 June, Seven News was the top program nationally across linear, with 1.524 million viewers, including 38,000 on BVOD, and an uplift of 3%. The program with the greatest uplift in the top 20 programs was Big Brother on Seven with an uplift of 43%, watched by 720,000 total TV viewers, and 156,000 on BVOD.

Seven News was the #1 metro program on Wednesday with 943,000 metro viewers, followed by Seven News at 6:30 with 922,000 metro viewers. Nine News was next with 839,000 metro viewers, and Nine News at 6:30 with 811,000 viewers.

A Current Affair brought in 656,000 metro viewers, ABC News saw 559,000 tune in, and ABC’s 7:30 News had 534,000 viewers in all five major capital cities.

As mentioned, in overall network share for Wednesday, Nine won the night with a 31.6% network share streaking ahead of Seven’s 24.2%, Ten finished with an 18.9% share, while ABC had a 16.7% share.
