Lindsey Evans to leave Australia to become TBWA\UK president
One of the Australian marketing industry’s most respected executives is to move overseas to take the helm of a British creative agency.
Lindsey Evans will be leaving her role as GM of marketing at Pacific Brands to become president of TBWA\UK Group.
Evans is British, but has been in Australia for more than a decade during which time she had a winning run as MD of the Sydney office of The Campaign Palace and won a string of awards with the agency she co-founded Happy Soldiers. She was also a board member of The Communications Council.
Her 18 months or so at Pacific Brands was marked by the much talked about The Birthday Project for Bonds.
Evans’ move to TBWA represents a homecoming to the company. She spent five years as Managing Director of New York based creative shop Weiss Stagliano Partners – joining when it was acquired by TBWA in 2001 – before moving on to become MD of its branding agency TBWA\Brand Architecture International. She moved to Sydney as managing partner of Whybin Lawrence TBWA.
Evans said: “I’m both humbled and exhilarated by the challenge of taking TBWA\London to its next level.”
Evan’s appointment comes as outgoing TBWA\UK Group President, Robert Harwood-Matthews, moves to take up the position of President of TBWA\Chiat Day, New York.
Nice! Lindsey – sorry but you’ve you missed The Olympics 😉
