Linkd Tourism appointed to represent Okinawa Convention and Visitors Bureau in Australia
Linkd Tourism will promote Okinawa’s unique culture and natural beauty to Australian trade and media following competitive tender win.
The announcement:
Australia-based travel PR and marketing representation firm, Linkd Tourism, will utilise its local expertise to represent Okinawa Convention & Visitors Bureau (OCVB) in the Australian market after winning a competitive tender.
Okinawa is the southernmost prefecture in Japan and is an island paradise rich in cultural heritage, nature and wildlife. The Okinawa Prefecture covers the Nansei Islands chain, an area of about 400 km north to south and 1,000 km from east to west. The islands are surrounded by coral reefs and seas teeming with marine life from small tropical fish to mantas, dolphins, and humpback whales.
Linkd Tourism’s account manager, Sally Miles, will lead the account’s B2B focus under the direction of Millie Browne, Linkd trade director, with consumer activity and PR also in the scope of services for the next 12 months, managed by Christina Koullas.
“Okinawa Convention & Visitors Bureau appreciated our fresh approach and creativity when responding to the RFP, as well as our track record of achieving what others would call ambitious targets,” Browne said.
“And with Sally’s eight years of experience with Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), her Japanese language fluency and Okinawan heritage, she brings additional expertise to promote Visit Okinawa Japan. The appointment of Linkd Tourism to the OCVB account further strengthens our outbound work to Japan, including another recent win to continue our management of the JNTO expo events in August 2025 and February 2026,” Browne continued.
OCVB manager Atsumi Ito commented, “Leveraging Linkd Tourism’s knowledge and experience gained through collaboration with JNTO, we are excited to work together to share the charm of Okinawa with the Australian trade and media. Okinawa is a land full of unique culture, traditions, and abundant natural beauty. We look forward to inspiring and welcoming more visitors from Australia.”
