LiSTNR launches new season of Malcolm Turnbull’s podcast
LiSTNR has launched season two of former PM Malcolm Turnbull’s podcast series Defending Democracy, which has been expanded to eight episodes.
On the podcast, Turnbull examines the threat to democracy through interviews with experts on artificial intelligence, defence capabilities and social media algorithms. Among the guests this season are Australian Strategic Policy Institute Executive Director Justin Bassi, and MOBY Group Chairman and CEO Saad Mohseni.
Turnbull says of the podcast: “In this series we discuss artificial intelligence, Tik Tok, killer robots and ask the question – is technology driving the decline of democracy?”
Questions posed during the season include, should we ban TikTok?, came we tame AI?, and will killer robots save or destroy us?
“With his exceptional access to leading experts across the globe, we are delighted that Mr Turnbull has expanded his exploration of the issues that continue to vex governments and created a second series of his popular podcast,” said LiSTNR Head of News and Information, Melanie Withnall.
