LiSTNR still country’s top podcast network, drawing 8.1 million listeners
The continued success of Hamish and Andy has helped LiSTNR retain its position as Australia’s largest podcast network for the first half of 2023.
The LiSTNR network drew over 8.1 million listeners during the first six months of the year, landing five podcasts in the top 20: Hamish & Andy, 7am, Crime Junkie, SmartLess, and Morbid.
LiSTNR dominated the charts, landing 19 podcasts in the top 50, including the likes of Triple M Footy AFL, It’s A Lot with Abbie Chatfield, The Howie Games, My Favorite Murder, and The Mel Robbins Podcast.
“Australia’s digital audio listening now leads the world, and podcast audiences have set new records with the number of people listening to podcasts jumping to 43%, exceeding the US for the first time the most advanced podcast market in the world,” SCA Executive Head LiSTNR Podcasts, Grant Tothill, said.
“LiSTNR is Australia’s fastest growing entertainment brand, and our podcast audiences reflect and lead the industry-wide growth.
“We have again eclipsed the 8 million monthly listeners to ensure we keep driving the LiSTNR podcast network reach and opportunity for advertisers. The continual growth of the podcast network is testament to the hard work of the entire team.”
8.1M monthly listeners? unique? or is this 8.1M listens… ?
If it is unique listeners, then it is seriously impressive, and there are more people listening to podcasts via Listenr than majority of commercial radio networks…

And does LISTNR provide more meaningful numbers such as how many minutes the 8.1m listened … well, more like how many minutes streamed to them?
