Live Nation and Mastercard leverage relationship to bring live music to CommBank Yello customers
The Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CommBank) and Mastercard are teaming up to help CommBank Yello customers attend their favourite music artists’ tours, via the latter’s relationship with entertainment company, Live Nation.
By making full use of the relationship between Mastercard and Live Nation, the collaboration will provide eligible CommBank Yello customers with access to top-of-the-line experiences, pre-sale ticket access, and preferred tickets to music artists.
The access is restricted to certain concerts within Live Nation’s touring catalogue and schedule.
And to kickstart the initiative, CommBank Yello customers will be rewarded with pre-sale access beginning on August 22 at 1:00pm for Sydney, and 2:00pm for Melbourne, to The Weeknd’s upcoming Australian tour – which has already made headlines in Australia for its scale-defying promotional strategy.
The pre-sale will end on August 25 at 11:59pm.
“CommBank Yello is the only recognition program of its kind offered by a bank in Australia, and this is just one of the ways we’re recognising and rewarding customers for banking with us,” said CommBank’s executive general manager, customer engagement and digital, Meg Bonighton.
“We’re delighted to work with Mastercard to bring another exclusive experience to our customers.”
Regarding CommBank and Mastercard’s partnership in relation to Live Nation, senior vice president, marketing solutions and clients services for the touring giant’s Australian and New Zealand arm, Kristy Rosser, said: “We are thrilled to extend our partnership with Mastercard and offer CommBank Yello customers exclusive first access to some of the world’s biggest artists.”
“The power of music is indicative in our research which shows that 3 in 4 Australians are likely to sign up for a new loyalty program based on live music perks alone.
“Providing exclusive access to Australia’s favourite artists will no doubt be an exciting addition for CommBank Yello customers.”
When asked about the new initiative, Mastercard’s Asia Pacific executive vice president, head of marketing and communications, and 2024 Mumbrella Finance Marketing Summit speaker, Julie Nestor, said music is within Australians’ DNA. Consequently, Mastercard is passionate about connecting its customers to their interests.
“For many Australians, music is more than just a passion – it’s an essential part of their everyday lives,” Nestor said.
“Mastercard is committed to connecting cardholders to their passions. With access to hundreds of touring artists every year, there’s never been a better reason for eligible CommBank Yello customers to pay with their Mastercard.”
