Lyndsey Rodrigues is joining Are Media next week
Lyndsey Rodrigues has been appointed as the new editor of Who magazine, joining Are Media next week.
Rodrigues comes from Yahoo, where she was head of its lifestyle vertical. Prior to this, she was entertainment editor at Val Morgan Digital, publisher of The Latch and Pop Sugar Australia, and was a contributor to People and the Hollywood Reporter.
The appointment is effective November 3 and will see Rodrigues working alongside Susan Armstrong, Are Media’s general manager of entertainment to grow the brand as an omnichannel publication.
Armstrong said in an announcement that Rodrigues “brings a wealth of experience in editorial leadership, audience growth and commercial collaboration.
“Her incredibly strong background in digital and video, combined with her strategic vision and hands-on editorial expertise, will be a valuable addition to lead the Who team.”
Rodrigues said she is “thrilled to be joining the team at such an exciting time”.
“Who is a brand that lives to entertain and inform Australians, across multiple platforms, with the very best celebrity and pop culture news, fashion, beauty and wellness. I’m looking forward to being part of its omnichannel evolution.”
Her appointment comes less than 24 hours after Are Media announced a partnership with ARN that will see the publisher launch a series of podcasts through iHeart Media.
The company has also moved into the live events space over the past year, launching the Elle Next Gen Awards, the Marie Claire Sustainability Awards and the Marie Claire Success Summit, and The Australian Women’s Weekly Health Summit.
