Mad Mex sponsors Mexico Film Festival

Mexican restaurant chain Mad Mex, which introduced Australia to a 1kg burrito earlier this year, has signed up as sponsor of the 2011 Hola! Mexico Film Festival in Melbourne.

According to a press release, ‘audiences will be able to experience the authentic cuisine of Mexico as they investigate it through film.’

The deal will see Mad Mex food served at follow-up events in Sydney and Brisbane. Festival goers will get 2-for-1 meal offer at a Mad Mex diner by presenting their ticket in-store.

“The purpose behind the Mad Mex brand has always been to educate Australians about true Mexican cuisine and steer perceptions away from the sombrero and cacti stereotypes,” said Mad Mex CEO Clovis Young. ” By exposing audiences to Mexico’s artistic community the festival helps to change perceptions in a similar way.”
