MADC appoint Cummins & Partners ECDS Ben Couzens and Jim Ingram as presidents

CUZ_AND_JIMThe Melbourne Advertising and Design Club (MADC) has appointed Ben Couzens and Jim Ingram as presidents charging the pair with bringing the organisation back from the brink after its awards night became financially unviable.

Couzens and Ingram, joint executive creative directors for Cummins & Partners, have worked their entire careers in Melbourne, said in a statement: “We’re immensely proud of the Melbourne advertising community and we understand the huge role MADC has played in galvanizing this industry, since long before we came along.

“The committee have done a cracking job maintaining the relevance of the club since the award show ceased and we want the MADC to do more than just survive. We want it to thrive.

“We understand the way the awards landscape has changed and the pressure this has placed on all local shows. We don’t want to compete with Cannes, or any other show. But we do want to celebrate the ideas and thinking that capture people’s attention in our market, so a new format is in planning that will won’t cost a bomb to enter, making it accessible to the whole creative community.”

While the club is not hosting an award show this year, it will have an After Party, with the club coming together on November 27 to celebrate the local industry.
