MAFS and Love Island stars gather to punch each other in the face

In the midst of all the Matildas glory, another serious sporting endeavour has slipped under the radar, as cast members of Married at First Sight and Love Island prepare to battle in the boxing ring tomorrow night in Melbourne.

Under the banner of ‘Pretender to Contender’, Married at First Sight’s Harrison Boon and Daniel Holmes plan to punch each other in the face in front of a capacity crowd at the Melbourne Pavilion.

As a lead in to this battle royale, MAFS contestant Jackson Lonie will fight Love Island Australia’s Tak Chipangura. There will also be professional fighters on the undercard.

The event is being promoted by Team Ellis Boxing. General manager Antoni Topic said interest in the reality star tiff has been “absolutely off the charts”.

“We know both Daniel and Harrison have been putting in the hours training and are ready to show off their skills,” Topic adds.

“Who will go from pretender to contender? It’s game on.”

Should you fail to get along to the Melbourne Pavilion but still wish to catch all the action, the event will be streaming live here.
