Malcolm Turnbull to open national radio conference

Next month’s National Radio Conference will be opened by the Federal Communications Minister Malcolm Turnbull.

The announcement:

Joan Warner, Commercial Radio Australia (CRA) chief executive officer said: “We are very pleased to welcome Minister Turnbull to the National Radio Conference this year. We look forward to his involvement in one of the premier events in the radio calendar.”

Mr Turnbull, a radio journalist early in his career, has spoken previously of his personal family connection and appreciation for the medium.

The Federal Government has recently released its Digital Radio Report, which signalled support for the regional rollout of DAB+ digital radio in regional Australia.

CRA previously announced award-winning advertising creative Sean Cummins will also speak at the conference, with further presenters to be announced in the coming weeks.

The National Radio Conference will be held at Jupiters on the Gold Coast on Friday, 9 October 2015 with more than 600 delegates expected from the 260 member stations of Commercial Radio Australia.

The 27th annual Australian Commercial Radio Awards will follow on Saturday 10 October at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.
