Mamamia launches second daily podcast, The Spill

Mamamia has added to its growing suite of podcasts, with a new daily edition. The Spill will be hosted by Laura Brodnik and Kee Reece and covers everything entertainment.

The announcement:

Off the back of its success with daily news podcast, The Quicky, dropping at 6am every morning and recently passing 2 million listens, Mamamia has announced a second daily show, ‘The Spill’ which will launch with partner Nescafé Gold this coming Monday 22nd July, dropping every afternoon in time for the commute home.

The Spill will be Australia’s first daily entertainment podcast, an irreverent take on Everything Entertainment, Every Day, designed for the wind down at the end of the day. Audience data (Source: Omny) has shown that most listening to The Quicky happens in and around the morning commute, when you want to get up to speed on the news of the day. With The Spill, Mamamia is providing its highly engaged female audience with an easy way to let out steam towards the end of the day.

Kee Reece, influencer manager from Social Squad, (Mamamia’s influencer agency), and Laura Brodnik, Mamamia’s widely-respected Entertainment Editor, will host The Spill.

Mamamia’s Head of Podcasts, Rachel Corbett, said: “We now have two shows designed for the peak periods of women’s listening, to bookend her day, and it brings our total number of podcasts across the network to 28. No other podcaster is able to connect so intimately with women 24/7 no matter what subject matter she’s looking for.”

Nestlé Head of Marketing – Beverages, Olga Starush, said: “Working with Mamamia on The Spill is an amazing opportunity for our brand to connect with women and coffee drinkers every day, in an environment that they trust and engage with. This partnership is a perfect fit with the tone and personality of the new NESCAFÉ Gold Café Inspired range, and a sign of our commitment to keeping up with Aussie lifestyles and tastes.”

Mamamia recently reported its monthly podcast listeners grew 67% year-on-year to June 2019 (Source: Omny), driven by new shows such as The Quicky and True Crime Conversations, consolidating its position as Australia’s leading owned and operated podcast company.
