Man charged after street fight involving News Corp journalist Paul Kent

A man has been charged by NSW police following a street fight involving Fox Sports presenter and News Corp journalist, Paul Kent.

On Sunday, footage of the brawl outside the Totti’s restaurant in Rozelle began circulating, showing the NRL 360 TV host engaged in a verbal altercation with another man as others attempted to intervene.

However, the incident escalated to a physical altercation, where the video shows Kent being thrown into the stump of a tree.

Shortly after the footage hit social media, News Corp Australia and Fox Sports confirmed Kent had been “stood down pending an immediate investigation”.

On Monday morning, NSW police confirmed that a 35-year-old man attended Balmain police station on Sunday evening where he was arrested and charged with affray.

He was given conditional bail to appear before the Downing Centre Local Court on Friday 7 June 2024.

Investigations into the brawl are ongoing.

The incident comes just months after Kent was found not guilty of domestic violence charges against his ex-partner.

Kent was also stood down from his roles with Fox Sports and News Corp during this time.
