Man of Many appoints John Guanzon as head of social

Men’s lifestyle publication Man of Many has appointed John Guanzon as head of social.

Australia’s men’s lifestyle publication Man of Many – manofmany.com, has strengthened its social media offering with the appointment of former News.com.au senior video & social producer, John Guanzon as head of social.

With a career spanning more than 12 years in digital content production, Guanzon brings a unique and multifaceted skill set that draws from his experience in the news media, film and television industry. He specialises in creating engaging social content, with an applied passion for emerging trends and optimising digital product to best connect with audiences.

Guanzon joins the team having previously worked as digital producer for leading Australian production company, Fremantle, where he oversaw digital production for some of the country’s biggest reality and entertainment lifestyle programs. In his most recent role at News Corp, he took the lead in producing high-volume social and video content for the media giant’s biggest news site, covering everything from breaking news and entertainment to internet trends. The content Guanzon produced was viewed by an average of 24 million people each month and his audience-led approach saw the brand’s TikTok account grow to 1 million followers in just over 12 months.

Since launching in 2012, Man of Many has enjoyed continued social media growth, reaching over 450,000 followers across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and YouTube, with over 690,000 unique Australian visitors to its website in July 2022 (source: Google Analytics). The evolution of platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, along with the rise of TikTok, have led Man of Many to revisit its social media strategy in order to harness opportunities to engage with its audience in new and exciting ways.

The new head of social role follows the recent hiring of video producer Richie Hall and continues the brand’s aim of expanding its production capabilities and video offering through Man of Many Media. The appointments cap off an impressive period for Man of Many, after receiving Highly Commended honours in the Media Brand of the Year category at the 2022 Mumbrella Awards and being nominated for 8 Mumbrella Publish Awards in 2022.
