Mango, Mediacom and GPY&R pick up top gongs at AdNews Awards
Mediacom was named media agency of the year at last night’s AdNews Awards while Mango Communications was chosen as PR agency and GPY&R Melbourne was named as ad agency.
With the exception of Mango as PR agency, the jury made different selections to December’s B&T Awards, which went for Three Drunk Monkeys as ad agency of the year and Ikon Communications as media agency.
Other winners at the AdNews Awards included Clemenger BBDO as creative network of the year, Soap Creative as digital agency of the year and Banjo as emerging agency of the year.
Happy Soldiers’ Tontine best by date pillows campaign won both ad campaign of the year and media campaign of the year.
Tonight sees the AWARD Awards, which are viewed as Australia’s main creative awards.

“AWARD Awards, which are viewed as Australia’s main creative awards”. Is that because adnews didn’t let you in?

Hi Singsta,
Neither AdNews or B&T would claim to be creative awards. As well as creativity, they recognise various aspects of agency life including the likes of new business & client retention, staff retention and business performance.
(But as it happens, on sheer numbers attending I’d estimate AWARD to be nearly twice as big as AdNews’ slightly more bijou affair…)
Cheers,
Tim – Mumbrella

Looks like no one gives a tosser about awards – as it should be. The only award in this caper is client sales. Fill your cabinet with trophy’s, but let’s not forget this is advertising – the bastion of commercialism xxx
