MAP AND PAGE APPOINTS SPORTS ACCOUNT DIRECTOR

(November 30, 2011)  National public relations agency Map and Page (MAP) has appointed Anna Wallin as Account Director to work on MAP’s sports portfolio.

Anna joins MAP with more than ten years’ experience in marketing communications, most recently at the AFL where she has been Marketing and Media Manager, based in Sydney for the past three football seasons.  Prior to this, Anna worked across a number of sporting clients including Rolex Sydney Hobart, Triathlon Australia, Surf Lifesaving, as well as events marketing for Tourism Sydney and Tourism New South Wales.

Earlier this year MAP was appointed by Westpac Retail & Business Banking to develop and implement a long term, integrated, consumer PR program.

Making the announcement, MAP Director Antonia O’Neill said, “We are delighted to welcome Anna to MAP.  Her strong sports credentials, intimate knowledge of Australian sport and broad experience in sports marketing and PR, perfectly position Anna to deliver strong value to MAP’s mix of clients”.

“Anna will work across MAP’s sports portfolio, which includes the NRL, the Harvey Norman Rugby League All Stars match, Westpac’s Sports + Entertainment division and the bank’s sports sponsorship properties including Collingwood FC, Adelaide Crows, Melbourne Heart, the City2Surf in Sydney and Perth and Melbourne’s City2Sea.

“I am delighted to be provided the opportunity to work with an agency of the caliber of MAP and look forward to joining the group in the coming weeks. The promotion of sport and the community that surrounds it has been my passion for over a decade and I look forward to being part of MAP’s dynamic team in this field,” Anna Wallin said.

“MAP has undergone a substantial growth period over the past twelve months, expanding to a team of seventeen with offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.  Having a local presence in key state markets has certainly expanded our capability and allowed us to have a national service offering for clients while giving the business the opportunities to build a local client base,” said Antonia.

MAP’s current clients are Westpac, Coca-Cola Amatil, Pacific Beverages, Bluetongue, Maserati, Lotus, M/H. Carnegie & Co, Harvey Norman, John Singleton, Macquarie Radio Network (2GB and 2CH), Magic Millions, National Rugby League (NRL), TEN Perth, Australian Food and Grocery Council and Octet Financing. Pro bono clients are Black Dog Institute, the Nelune Foundation and Ray of Hope.
