Marc van den Berg named group operations director for M&C Saatchi

Marcvan den BergM&C Saatchi has appointed Marc van den Berg to the new role of group operations director.

The announcement:

SYDNEY 2 OCTOBER 2013 – M&C Saatchi has appointed former Ogilvy & Mather UK Group Delivery Director Marc van den Berg to the newly created role of Group Operations Director.

Reporting into CEO Jaimes Leggett, van den Berg’s core focus will be to streamline operations and production, to harness the Group’s many creative parts smartly, efficiently and with more rapid delivery to market.

Leggett said: “Marc is a very important hire for the Group. M&C Saatchi  is comprised of many specialist businesses and Marc will be key to pulling all those strands together for a more seamless creative output.

“One that ensures we are able to take a more cohesive and agile approach to solving our clients’ business challenges to efficiently deliver work that works on any number of levels. Marc’s credentials are second to none and we are thrilled to have him on board.”

At O&M van den Berg was responsible for delivery and production output  (across print and digital), offshoring across Europe, The Middle East and delivery alignment for both the UK operations.

Prior to that he was Head of Delivery at OgilvyOne, the UK’s most awarded direct & digital agency.

For the previous three years he was Head of Delivery for RAPP UK (DDB’s sister agency) overseeing the management of digital, data and print delivery teams.

Born in South Africa, van den Berg moved to Melbourne with his parents as a 10-year-old and was schooled at Melbourne Grammar, before studying AudioEngineering in New Zealand. For the past 14 years he has lived in the UK where he embarked on a career in IT and Consulting, before moving to Marcomms operations and production management in 2006.
