Marcel added to Foxtel roster following TBWA’s resignation
Marcel has been added to the Foxtel roster after TBWA Sydney’s resignation from the account.
In a statement to Mumbrella, Foxtel said it is working with two retained agencies, With Collective and Marcel.
“We continue to work with two retained Agencies – The With Collective and Marcel. We will continue to remain open to great creative ideas and thinking from Australia’s deep pool of brilliant marketing and creative minds. There’s never been a more exciting time to be charting new directions in entertainment.”
In November last year With Collective resigned its spot on the Optus roster to work with the subscription television service Foxtel.
Earlier this morning, TBWA announced it would no longer be working with Foxtel as it has won a new piece of business which would be competitive.
Last year in January, the former chief marketer at Commonwealth Bank, Andy Lark, joined the company as its chief marketing officer.
Marcel has been approached for comment.
The client claimed earlier that TBWA didn’t resign because they weren’t actually ‘retained’. Now the client has issued a release stating that Foxtel is working with two ‘retained’ agencies. So are they retained or simply on a roster? There’s a big difference, particularly as the latter means there’s no guarantee of any work coming your way…..

Foxtel would like to think of itself as a high profile account, but reality is it is not and hasn’t been since the mid 2000’s.
The briefs and budgets are mediocre and its overall subscription business is in terminal decline. It’s not a winning combination.
