Marie Claire UK’s head of fashion affiliate at the Marie Claire Edit, Emily Ferguson, will present a detailed session on merging e-commerce and publishing at Mumbrella’s Publish conference on September 19.

Ferguson, who was previously the e-commerce business development manager at The Telegraph, will reveal how to integrate e-commerce into a publishing strategy, and explain how to lead a successful e-commerce site to build more audience data, engage readers, drive e-commerce revenue and maintain editorial tone of voice.

Ferguson will fly in from London to present at Mumbrella Publish

The session will see Ferguson, who works specifically on Marie Claire’s e-commerce shopping platform Marie Claire Edit, reveal some of the key parts of the work she has done to make e-commerce a more accepted and successful part of the publishing industry.

Partner and managing director at global strategy consulting firm Simon-Kucher & Partners, Christoph Petzoldt, will also speak at Mumbrella Publish.

Petzoldt will lead a session titled ‘Maximising profits: How to nail your pricing strategy’

Petzoldt will lead a session on pricing strategies and maximising profits. The session will unpack a market framework which includes pricing strategy, product design, price setting and price optimisation.

With automated buying eroding ad rates, Petzoldt will address how publishing businesses should be pricing their subscriptions to ensure they scale their audiences and drive revenue.

Plus, hear from NewsMediaWorks’ CEO Peter Miller and Thinkerbell’s lead strategic thinker, Dominic Counhan, as they front a session about selling print to advertisers.

The duo will draw on the campaign NewsMediaWorks and Thinkerbell created to reinforce quality journalism and combat the issues of mistrust and fake news in media.

Throughout the session the pair will share the insights used to create the campaign, why reinforcing trust in print is important, and how brands are currently engaging with it.

In addition, Chris Janz, managing director of publishing at Nine; NewsMediaWorks’ marketing director, Simon Davies; and Universal Magazines’ publisher and head of digital strategy, Janice Williams, join already announced panels including ‘Leaders Hotseat’ and ‘The Netflix of news: Apple News+, good or bad?’
