Mark Buckman takes control of all Telstra’s marketing
Telstra has centralised all of its marketing functions in a restructure which gives even greater influence to new chief marketing officer Mark Buckman.
The announcement came as part of a wider move by Telstra aimed at sharpening the company’s customer focus.
The moves means that marketing staff in the Telstra Enterprise & Government, Telstra Business, Telstra Consumer & Country Wide units will now report in to Buckman.
In a briefing to staff, Buckman said: “I’m excited as we transition from being the largest marketer in Australia to become the best marketer in Australia. In marketing terms, the opportunity doesn’t get much better than this.”
Good luck with the transition Mr Buckman, you’ve got a lot of work to do.

A lucky position in that the general quality of Telstra marketing can only improve from its current position.

Now all Mark needs to do is to appoint an agency in Portland, San Francisco or Amsterdam.

A hard job but if anyone can do it I think Buckman is the person to do it. Who gives a rats where the agency he selects is from – judge the work and results not the location.
