Marketing without PR is like Big Macs without meat
“I just had a scan of the program for the forthcoming Advertising, Marketing & Media Summit 2009. I searched hungrily to see which public relations experts had scored a gig in what is a pretty high profile conference within the marketing industry. No mention. Not one PR speaker. Zilch. Nada. Zip. Zero.”
Trevor – it happens too often.
Maybe the organisers would say that “marketing without PR is like a Big Mac meal without the fries: unfortunate, but still there’s enough junk to keep most people satisfied.” They’d be horribly wrong of course. But if it’s mainly funded by advertising agencies that might explain their choice…
I went to an interesting summit on new media the other week and it was all about PR, oh and Nick “geek from Microsoft” too. Interesting but some interesting angles were clearly missing.
Oh to have the whole story… or the whole Big Mac meal for that matter.
