Married At First Sight powers through Wednesday night demographics

Dinner party tensions saw Married at First Sight dominate Wednesday night’s TV ratings across all the demographics according to OzTam’s overnight preliminary ratings.

The show recorded 1.28m metro viewers, well ahead of Seven’s My Kitchen Rules’ 816,000. Nine’s show also more than doubled MKR’s audience in the three key age demographics.

In the 16-39 group, MAFS attracted 390,000 metro viewers to MKR’s 177,000. Ten’s I’m a Celebrity elimination recorded an audience of 126,000 in third place.

For the 18-49 demographic, Nine’s show grabbed an audience of 619,000, over MKR’s 279,000 and I’m a Celebrity’s 231,000, while in the 25-54 cohort, MAFS took 670,000 to MKR’s 312 and Celebrity’s 266,0000.

The elimination episode of Ten’s I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here, recorded 537,000 metro viewers overall, behind the ABC’s Hard Quiz which picked up an audience of 572,000.

Married At First Sight’s dominance of the night saw Nine take a comfortable lead in the night’s shares, with a 25.6% main channel share over Seven’s 21.3%, Ten’s 11.0% and the ABC’s 10.7%. SBS recorded 4.1%.

Of the multi-channels, Ten’s Bold was the best performing with a 4.0% share, beating out 9Go’s 3.3% and 7TWO’s 2.7%. ABC Kid took 2.5% of the audience.

Nine’s main channel share also saw it easily win the network shares for the evening with 32.9% of the audience, beating out Seven 28.6% and Ten’s 17.2%. The ABC’s was 14.8% and SBS took 6.5%.
