Married at First Sight beats MKR for third time as cooking show pulls second-lowest audience ever
The My Kitchen Rules and Married at First Sight ratings see-saw has shifted again, with Nine’s reality relationship show back on top for the third time this year.
The relationship reality show aired at 7:30pm last night, managing 1.092m viewers – improving from last Monday night’s 1.062m, according to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings.
Married at First Sight was the most-watched program for the evening and across key advertising demographics 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.
In the competitive 7:30pm time slot Seven’s reality cooking show My Kitchen Rules pulled 1.048m – losing traction from last week’s 1.252m and seeing its second-lowest audience since the show first aired.
The program came in at number three last night for the first time this season – beaten by Seven News which managed 1.049m and Married at First Sight.
Ten’s reality competitor in the time slot, I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here averaged 727,000 viewers – sitting slightly behind last week’s 728,000.
Airing at 9:00pm, Seven’s drama 800 Words pulled in 639,000 behind the previous week’s 718,000, while Nine’s Travel Guides managed 563,000 compared to last week’s 613,000.
A Current Affair pulled 836,000 at 7:00pm on Nine while Seven’s Home and Away saw 736,000 tune in compared to Ten’s The Project which managed 540,000.
In the 6:00pm news battle for the evening Nine followed Seven News’ 1.049m with 912,000 and at 6:30pm Seven saw 962,000 while Nine managed 912,000.
In overall audience share Seven pulled out a win with 22.4% – just 0.4% ahead of Nine’s 22.0%. Ten came in third with 13.9%, in front of ABC’s 9.8% and SBS’ 5.0%.
