Marvel’s Black Panther takes another $7.5m in second box office weekend
Marvel Studios’ latest film Black Panther adding more than $7.5m to its total earnings over the weekend, according to the Motion Picture Distributors Association of Australia’s latest report.
The film – which earned more than $10m on its first weekend – has now made a total of $22.132m. Last weekend, it ran across 574 screens.
Entering the Australian weekend box office for the first time this weekend was Game Night, which finished with $1.953m across 287 screens. The film stars Rachel McAdams and Jason Bateman and follows the story of a married couple whose weekly couples game night takes a turn for the mysterious
Meanwhile, Fifty Shades Freed continued to thrive at the weekend box office, managing an additional $1.155m over the weekend. Since its premiere, it has more $12.745m.
Finding Your Feet, the story of a middle class ‘snob’ who takes refuge with her bohemian sister, entered the weekend box office with $1.011m.
The Greatest Showman, starring Hugh Jackman, made just short of $1m over the weekend, with $988,298 added to total earnings. It was enough to bring The Greatest Showman’s local box office total to $30.728m.
