Maserati moves media account to UM from Spark Foundry

Maserati has moved its media account to UM Australia from incumbent Spark Foundry, effective 1 July.

The luxury car brand confirmed the news, saying the decision is “in line with a normal business review and is particularly relevant as Maserati consolidates this year and prepares for the next stage of its new model role out and growth over the following five years”.

The appointment follows UM’s recent retention of the Coca-Cola and Kmart accounts. 2018 was also a strong year for the agency, following Fiona Johnston coming on board as CEO in 2017. Last year, it landed AGL, Australian Government, Nestle, American Express, and Heineken.

Its latest client, Maserati, previously worked with Blue 449, which was absorbed into Spark Foundry earlier this year. Recently, Publicis Groupe’s Spark Foundry won the PPG Industries and Cancer Council accounts, and also added the $10m Peter’s Ice Cream and Marriott accounts to its roster over the past 12 months.

UM was unavailable for comment.
