Masterchef has apologised for a social media blunder which saw the show’s Facebook page accidentally reveal the identity of the final three contestants ahead of tonight’s elimination.

The apology followed a post to promote the masterclass half of tonight’s double episode.

The first half of the program was due to show contestants Billie, Reynold and Jessica fight to avoid elimination.
But the post to promote the second episode showed Reynold back among the other eliminated contestants, with Billie and Jessica joining contestant Georgia who had already gone through.

The post was quickly taken down, but not before its content began to spread on Twitter. In its apology, Masterchef said the spoiler was a result of human error.
The show, which has delivered some of Ten’s strongest ratings of the year, ends on Monday night.
