Masterchef audience down to 767,000 viewers as House Rules recovers

Ten’s flagship cooking show Masterchef dropped to 767,000 metro viewers on Sunday night, posting its lowest audience of the season so far.

The debut of Masterchef’s season nine on Monday pulled 1.06m viewers, however it hasn’t managed an audience over one million since then.

Nine’s The Voice was the most watched non-news program of the evening averaging 1.084m metro viewers, according to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings.

Seven’s House Rules managed to beat Ten’s Masterchef for the first time this year with 799,000 metro viewers tuning in, but House Rules was still down on last week’s premiere audience of 1m.

ABC News – which aired at the same time – pulled in 658,000 metro viewers and finished fourth in the timeslot.

Nine had the largest audience share of the night with 21.1% just beating Seven’s 20%, meanwhile Ten posted a share of 12.1%.

ABC came in fourth with a 10.4% share ahead of SBS’ 5.2%.
