Masterchef helps Ten stay strong in the demographics, but Seven wins Wednesday night

Masterchef Australia was the most-watched program with all three of the key advertising demographics on Wednesday night, taking the top spot with the 16-39s, 18-49s and 25-54s. With 946,000 metro viewers tuning in, it was also the most-watched entertainment program overall for the night.

However, it was Seven that won in the audience share overall, holding an 18.0% primary channel share and 25.3% as a network.

That result was driven largely by Seven News, which brought in 1.226m metro viewers and 1.896m nationally. It was the most-watched program of the night and held second place in the 25-54 demographic.

Nine News brought in 1.100m metro viewers and 1.447m nationally, while ABC News secured 830,000 metro and 1.199m national viewers.

Up against Masterchef, Nine’s Doctor Doctor delivered 482,000 metro viewers, while Seven’s Britain’s Got Talent brought in 523,000.

Ten’s The Secrets She Keeps delivered 419,000 metro viewers, Nine’s Paramedics 474,000 and Seven’s movie offering Shooter brought in 262,000.

Behind Seven overall in the night, Nine held a primary channel audience share of 17.4% and a network share of 25.0%. Ten secured 15.7% and 23.0%, while ABC held 14.4% and 18.4%. 10 Bold was the most-watched multi-channel with 4.8%.
