MasterChef sizzles in entertainment, as Nine wins overall share

Last night’s part one episode of the MasterChef grand finale on Ten topped entertainment programming for Monday night, airing to a metro audience of 693,000 viewers, however, it was Nine that managed to top overall share for the evening.

Ten’s Have You Been Paying Attention came in next, bringing in a further 630,000 metro viewers for the network and topping all three key advertising demographics.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 4 July, Seven News was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.655 million viewers, including 46,000 on BVOD, and uplift of 3%. The biggest uplift of the week was an episode of SBS’s True Colours with an uplift of 136% and aired to a total audience of 383,000.

Next in entertainment, Seven’s The Chase Australia score 615,000 metro viewers, while the grand finale of Nine’s Australian Ninja Warrior brought in 560,000 metro viewers, and 510,000 metro viewers tuned in for the winner announcement.

ABC’s Back Roads brought in 514,000 metro viewers and Four Corners on ABC had 464,000 metro viewers, with Seven’s Home and Away bringing in 445,000 metro viewers and Nine’s Hot Seat on 441,000.

Overall, Seven News was the #1 metro program on Sunday with 981,000 metro viewers followed by Nine News at 6:30 with 928,000 metro viewers. Seven News at 6:30 had 913,000 metro viewers, while Nine News brought in 912,000.

A Current Affair on Nine brought in a further 730,000 metro viewers, while ABC News had an average of 616,000 metro viewers.

As mentioned, the Nine Network won the night, taking an overall network share of 29.7% followed by Ten, with 23.5%, while Seven took a 21.9% share and the ABC had 17.4%.

Nine also won the primary channel share, with 21.8%, and the top-rating multi-channel on Monday was 7TWO with a share of 3.3%.
