MasterChef tops key advertising demos but Seven wins Thursday
MasterChef Australia emerged as the top-rating entertainment program on Wednesday night, with an average of 576,000 metro viewers enough to deliver the program a win across the three key advertising demographics.
It was the #6 rating program overall on Thursday, with Seven News the top offering on 942,000 metro viewers. Seven also claimed a nightly win, with a 27.2% network share, ahead of Nine’s 26.8%.

Up against MasterChef in primetime was Home And Away on Seven, watched by 489,000 metro viewers. Meanwhile, Nine’s Thursday Night NRL Live brought in 327,000 metro viewers.
A total of 502,000 metro viewers watched Seven’s The Chase Australia, and 472,000 metro viewers watched Hot Seat.
Seven’s The Front Bar was watched by 349,000 people across metro markets. ABC’s Q&A aired to just 278,000 metro viewers. It will soon be joined by ABC’s flagship current affairs program Foreign Correspondent on Thursday nights from 3 June.
Despite losing out in the network share stakes, Nine claimed the top primary channel share with 19.3% ahead of Seven’s 18.7%.
The top rating multi-channel on Thursday was 7TWO with a 3.8% share.
