MasterChef wins primetime entertainment crown but Seven tops Thursday

Ten’s MasterChef has taken out the top spot for primetime entertainment on Thursday night with 438,000 metro viewers, however Seven celebrated an overall network share win.

Outside primetime entertainment, The Chase Australia on Seven, brought in 514,000 metro viewers, followed by Hot Seat on Nine with 449,000 metro viewers.


In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 2 June Seven News topped the list with 1.543 million Total TV viewers, including 38,000 viewers on BVOD with an uplift of 3%. The program with the highest uplift was Thursday’s episode of Ten’s MasterChef, with an uplift of 29%, viewed by a total of 786,000 national viewers.

Seven’s AFL match was viewed by a metro audience of 427,000 viewers, while Nine’s RBT was watched by 389,000 metro viewers, and Seven’s Home and Away had 343,000 metro viewers.

Overall, Seven News topped programming with 895,000 metro viewers, followed by Seven News at 6.30 with 860,000 metro viewers. Nine News was next with 821,000 metro viewers, then Nine News 6:30 with 807,000 metro viewers. ABC News brought in 578,000 metro viewers and Nine’s A Current Affair had 587,000 metro viewers. ABC’s 7:30 followed with 578,000 metro viewers.

Meanwhile, Seven won overall share for the evening with 32.2%, followed closely by Nine with 25.5%. Next was Ten, with 16.9% of total share, with ABC on 15.6%.
