Match & Wood wins Curtin University media account from Carat and Longreach

Curtin University has awarded its media account to independent media agency Match & Wood following a competitive tender process.

The account was previously shared by Carat and Longreach Media, but Match & Wood will now handle media strategy, planning, buying and data analytics across all channels within Australia.

Match & Wood has offices in Perth and Melbourne, while Curtin University is Western Australia’s largest university – with more than 56,000 students. Its main campus is located in Perth, with regional locations in Kalgoorlie and Midland, plus four global campuses in Malaysia, Singapore, Dubai and Mauritius.

Sydney-based agency Global Rev Gen will continue to look after all international media planning and buying for Curtin University.

Curtin University director of brand and marketing, Kate Jennings, said: “Match & Wood demonstrated strong strategic insights and an ability to effectively reach our important target demographic in our local markets.

“I look forward to partnering with them to tell the rich Curtin University story to those considering entering higher education across the country.”

The account is the latest win for Match & Wood, which also counts COSBOA (Council of Small Business Organisations Australia), UrbnSurf, Synergy, Summit Homes Group, and HIF Australia among its clients.

Match & Wood managing director, Lyndelle O’Keefe, said: “In what is a challenging environment across the sector, the Match & Wood team will work closely with Curtin University to maximise its investment and leverage our expertise to meaningfully connect with their youth audiences.

“We’re delighted to have been appointed by such a respected leader in education, research and engagement.”

In late 2020, Curtin University released its first major brand campaign in more than five years, working with Analog Folk Sydney on the ‘Change Is Here’ brand platform.
