Matt Rowley joins Cirrus Media as head of content marketing

Business to business publisher Cirrus Media has appointed the founding CEO of independent rugby website Matt Rowley to be its head of content marketing.

For the last year and a half Rowley has been the managing director of digital customer engagement agency Thirteenth Floor.

John King, Cirrus Media CEO, said: “Content Marketing is a key growth area for Cirrus Media. Matt’s expertise and vision in creating digital engagement for clients is a critical piece of the puzzle for us as we continue to build our content marketing offering.”

He replaces Stu Stevens who left to join Yahoo!7 last month.

On his appointment Rowley said: “There’s a myth about content marketing – that anyone can do it. Real engagement, especially in B2B, is a very high bar and to meet it at scale and over time is impossible for the vast majority of businesses. I’m excited to be joining Cirrus because they’ve been doing that for more than twenty years – it’s now about how we innovate that digitally.”

In February Cirrus Media said it was looking to sell off its small and medium enterprise directories business HotFrog.
