M&C Saatchi and Starcom top new business table

M&C Saatchi was December’s best ad agency and Starcom the best media agency in terms of new revenue, according to analysis published by client relationship consultancy R3.  

According to R3’s ranking, wins including Woolworths Hardware, David Jones, ING and Georg Jensen saw M&C Saatchi’s revenues rise by $5.8m.

Meanwhile, Starcom topped the new business league with revenue up by $6.23m from new accounts including Metcash, South Australia Governmentt and Subaru Retail.

In the advertising table, TBWA was second, Clemenger BBDO was third and Y&R was fourth. Bottom of the table in 20th place was Saatchi & Saatchi which lost Lion Nathan.

M&C Saatchi chairman Tom Dery said: “It’s 2011 now and we’re working even harder to carry that momentum into the New Year. We are hopeful 2011 will be just as successful as 2010.”

Among media agencies, Mediacom was second, UM third and PHD fourth for new business.

Bottom of the pile in 16th place among media agencies was Zenith Optimedia which lost L’Oreal.
