M&C Saatchi’s Siobhan Fitzgerald launches sex-positive publishing platform The Good Bits

Siobhan Fitzgerald, a former M&C Saatchi associate creative director and founder of Gabberish, has launched a ‘sex-positive’ publishing platform – The Good Bits.

The platform will provide readers with the “good bits” of romance books from bestselling authors including Sierra Simone and Ilona Andrews.

Fitzgerald was associate creative director at M&C Saatchi. She joined the agency from The Monkeys in 2018 and appeard to have finished up the role this month.

The idea for the platform came from the fact up to 40% of women suffer from low sexual desire and the escalation in online searches for pornography during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Alongside Simone and Andrews, Alessandra Torre, Amy Andrews and Stefanie London have all signed up for the platform to share their best sex scenes with The Good Bits subscribers.

Fitzgerald partnered with technology expert Carol Battle on the platform with Battle leading the commercial side of the business. Fitzgerald said The Good Bits aims to prove that sex doesn’t need to be sleazy to be appealing.

“Sex is such an important part of the human experience, and there’s no reason it should be sleazy. Our aim has been to present great sex in great style, on a platform that can inspire authors, readers, and advertisers alike,” she said.

Battle said: “Our unique aesthetic is proving attractive to the kind of brand partnerships that are often closed off to sites that feature erotic content. And with a sex tech sector cut off from most mainstream advertising opportunities, and estimated to grow by $US80B in the next 6 years, we see huge potential for commercial growth as we spread the good sex message.”
