McCann promotes Pat Baron to national chief creative officer

Pat Baron has been appointed McCann Australia’s national chief creative officer, the agency’s first since John Mescall’s promotion to global executive creative director three years ago.

Baron has been with McCann Melbourne for almost six years, as an executive creative director and later McCann Melbourne’s chief creative officer.

Prior to joining McCann, Baron worked across Indie Creative J Walter Thompson and Clemenger BBDO.

In his time with the agency, Baron was named creative of the year at the 2015 Australian Creativity and Effectiveness Awards, and his work has been recognised across 400 international awards, including Cannes Lions, Cannes Grand Prix and 19 Cannes Gold Lions.

Baron has worked on campaigns including Melbourne Metro Trains’ Dumb Ways to Die, V/Line’s Guilt Trips and Tiger’s Infrequent Flyers Club.

McCann confirmed the new appointment however declined to comment further.
