McCann wins $1.6m government account

McCann has landed a $1.6m federal government project to raise awareness of the role of carers.

The announcement:

SYDNEY, 15 March 2012: The federal government has appointed McCann to create a national campaign to raise awareness of the role and contribution of carers.

The National Carer Awareness Campaign and a series of associated Young Carer Festivals, taking place in June 2012, are part of the government’s commitment to provide carers with every opportunity to take part in all aspects of economic, social and community life.

The campaign will seek to raise the community’s awareness of the role of carers and the contribution they make to society, and promote the services and support available to them.

The government is investing $1.6 million on the campaign, which is being managed by the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA).

McCann Worldgroup Chief Executive Officer Ben Lilley said: “We have worked with FaHCSIA on a number
of projects over a number of years so it is fantastic to be awarded this opportunity. This is a significant and
important campaign. Carers and their contribution are too often ignored, and they deserve to be celebrated.”
