McCorkell sets up Melbourne office following Australia Post win

Content agency, McCorkell, has launched a Melbourne office along with making a number of new hires.

The launch of the Melbourne office comes after McCorkell was appointed B2B content agency for Australia Post.

Shira Friedman joins McCorkell Melbourne’s office

The new hires are D’arne Buckley as a senior marketing consultant, Marissa Cookson as senior martech specialist and Shira Friedman who will take the role of content producer.

Friedman has returned home to Melbourne after working in Israel. In her new role, she will be responsible for McCorkell’s Melbourne content requirements.

Karen Powell, McCorkell’s managing director said: “The team in Melbourne not only have technical and subject matter expertise in their fields, they have great business acumen. That is what clients expect from their agency partners and delivering on this is table stakes for any agency that is performance based.”

Buckley joined the agency having worked in the United Kingdom, Australia and Southeast Asia with McCann, Grey, Clemenger and JWT.

In a statement, Buckley said: “McCorkell has a sophistication across disciplines that promotes more expansive thinking on behalf of its customers. I’m excited at the prospect of building out the local practice and bringing everything the agency has to offer into the Melbourne market.”

Buckley will take the lead on building the practice and client servicing in Melbourne, reporting to Karen Powell, Managing Director and supported by all departmental leads across the agency. Friedman will report day to day to the APAC content second-in-charge, Monica Villate.

Cookson’s appointment is part of the agency’s big to strengthen its martech and managed services offering.

McCorkell’s acting head of marketing technology, Brooke Campbell, said: “Marissa’s [Cookson] multidisciplinary experience is going to help us even more tightly integrate the digital, web, content and martech service lines, which is essential to customers aiming for seamless, omni-channel marketing outcomes.”
