The host of Channel Nine’s singing competition ratings giant The Voice, Darren McMullen, will return as the host of the show’s radio counterpart.

The announcement:

dmg Radio Australia, Shine Australia and Nine Network Australia announced Darren McMullen’s return as the host of The Voice Radio Show, exclusive to the Nova Network, commencing on Wednesday 8th May from 6pm to 7pm.

The Voice Radio Show will run for seven weeks, in conjunction with the Nine Network’s The Voice, and will feature interviews with all the artists. Darren will re-live and replay the live performances and listeners will hear firsthand about all the back-stage action. Nova will be the home for The Voice on Australian radio.

The Voice Radio Show will air on Wednesday nights for the first two weeks, then move to Tuesday nights for the live performance shows.

Tony Thomas, dmg Radio Australia Group Marketing Director said, “We are really excited about the return of The Voice Radio Show and Darren McMullen to the Nova Network. We’re also thrilled to be offering Nova listeners exclusive access, once again to Australia’s favourite TV show”.

Shine Australia’s Director of Entertainment and The Voice Australia Executive Producer Julie Ward said, “Our partnership with Nova last year was a fantastic extension of The Voice brand. We look forward to building on that success and making The Voice Radio Show even better in Season Two.”

Darren McMullen said of his Radio show “I’m looking forward to saddling up and getting back on the horse with The Voice Radio Show on Nova and having a chinwag with everyone’s favourite artists and coaches every week. This season has been bigger and better than last year.”

He added “I love being on radio. I get to wear all those comfy clothes they don’t let me wear on TV. Dresses and high-heels never look quite right on the screen. All jokes aside, I love being on radio, I’ve been fascinated with the medium for years and I love lending my voice to this brilliant show. Nova listeners will be able to find out all about their favourite artists and will learn more about what makes them tick on stage and off. Listeners will be able to get involved in getting the answers to everything they have ever wanted to know about The Voice… and more!”

The Voice Radio Show, hosted by Darren McMullen, commences on Wednesday 8 May from 6pm and can be heard nationally on Sydney’s Nova 96.9, Melbourne’s Nova 100, Brisbane’s Nova 106.9, Perth’s Nova 937 and Adelaide’s Nova 919
