MEC makes three search hires

GroupM media agency MEC has expanded its digital team, appointing three new people in its search team.

The announcement: 

13 February 2012: MEC has further bolstered its digital capabilities with three significant new hires within the Search team.

The appointments further enhance the agency’s digital offering across both search engine marketing (SEM) and search engine optimisation (SEO).

Allan Li joins MEC as Search Manager from his previous role as Search Planner at iProspect UK, where he worked across a number of client verticals. At MEC, Li will work predominantly on the Allianz Australia search account.

Also joining the agency are David Bain and Miki Clarke, who will both work as SEO Managers. Bain is an SEO-focused senior digital marketing professional with experience across a number of online disciplines including SEO, video marketing, aggregator sites, blogger outreach and social media. He makes the move to Australia from Greenlight Digital, the UK’s largest independent digital agency.

Clarke moves across from MEC’s GroupM sister agency Outrider, where she worked on MEC client business. Prior to Outrider, she spent two years as SEO Manager for Debenhams, the UK’s second largest department store group. Before that, she was a Senior Account Manager at Greenlight Digital UK, working on clients such as Thomas Cook, Co-operative Financial Services, Interflora and UKTV.

All three new recruits will report to MEC Australia’s Head of Search, Alex Hancocks.

Hancocks said: “It is great to be welcoming additional talent into the Search team at MEC. Search services are proving to be an area of growth for the agency. 2013 is off to a flying start and the additional team members will be instrumental in driving revenue growth and exploiting opportunities during the coming year.”
