The body for media agencies in Australia has appointed two new co-chairs with the body’s aim to place more emphasis on people and interactive in 2013. The Media Federation of Australia appointed Leonie Kerley, IKON’s national people & culture director and Efi Richter, MediaCom’s head of people & culture to co-chair the MFA’s People Committee.

Meanwhile, Ellie Rogers, IKON’s national digital director and Travis Johnson, MediaBrand’s commercial director have been appointed to co-chair the Interactive Committee.

The announcement:

As part of its focus on ensuring the industry is providing the best people with the best resources, as well as education and accountability for clients, the Media Federation of Australia has appointed new Chairs for the People and Interactive committees.

Both committees now have Co-Chairs to better deal with the increasing industry priorities they face.

IKON’s National People & Culture Director, Leonie Kerley, and MediaCom’s Head of People & Culture, Efi Richter, will chair the MFA’s People Committee.

“I am extremely passionate about our industry and making a positive impact from a thought leadership point of view with our people. I would love to see our industry lead some progressive initiatives in the people space and be the first to do so,” Kerley said. “I think my People/ HR background and Efi’s media industry background are a perfect complement to each other and I am looking forward to working together as Co-Chair of the MFA People Committee to further enhance our industry’s focus on our people.”

Interactive Committee Co-Chairs are IKON National Digital Director Ellie Rogers and Mediabrands Commercial Director Travis Johnson.

“Both Ellie and Travis have been leading the digital space for their agencies, and recently with the committee set the industry’s priorities in this space for 2013,” said MFA President Henry Tajer. “Education and measurement are the key areas we believe will make the key difference for driving the industry forward with the goal of improving operational efficiencies.”
