One of Australia’s most influential media investors Mark Carnegie is to speak at Mumbrella360 in a session discussing the economy and the outlook for the media and marketing world in the coming months.

Carnegie’s investments have included Macquarie Radio Network, the parent company of talk radio giant 2GB; Lonely Planet; STW Group; John Fairfax Holdings and Hoyts Cinemas.

Joining Carnegie on the panel is Ross Greenwood. Greenwood has covered finance and business matters in Australia and around the world for almost 30 years. He hosts Money News with Ross Greenwood on Sydney’s talkback radio station 2GB and is the Nine Network’s business and finance editor. Previously, he co-hosted Nine’s former flagship current affairs program Sunday.

Also on the panel is analyst and investor Roger Colman, boss of CCZ Equities Research. Colman was among the first media analysts to call for investors to dump Fairfax shares. Since he recommended selling a year ago, the shares have fallen in value by a third. Colman’s media investments have included Midwest Radio, caradvice.com.au and Titan Media.

The session will also examine the wider global outlook with a presentation from Clifford Bennett, chief economist of White Crane Group. Bennett is author of the daily financial newsletter FxMax Report and was among the first economists to predict that the Australian dollar would reach parity with the US greenback.

The session will be moderated by Bernard Kellerman, group managing director of Australian Financial Publications.

Mumbrella360 takes place on June 6 and 7 at the Hilton Hotel in Sydney. Tickets are on sale here.
