Media Merchants has rebranded itself with the moniker, “MM”

Media Merchants has rebranded itself as “MM” in an attempt to reflect its expansion and diversified service offering.

The announcement:

Independent, full-service agency, Media Merchants has rejuvenated its brand identity, in recognition of the agency’s expansion over 24 years into a more diversified service offering. Embracing the popular moniker “MM”, the agency seeks to move away from the perception of being a traditional media only business and cement their team as Australia’s most passionate and responsive industry experts.

The new logo and brand imagery speaks toward a vision of inspiration and connection. Platforming the agencies range of inhouse services across media, performance, digital and website production, creative and content production.

“It could be easily described as being cliché, but we don’t shy away from owning that our purpose as an agency remains to inspire everyday Australians to connect with our clients’ brands,” said head of strategy & services, Justine Butler. “What that looks like as an agency today is very different to when the business was founded in 1999 by James Fitzgerald, and so it was time our name better reflected that.”

Of the move to remove the formal business name of Media Merchants from their logo after 24 years, general manager Michael Gee said, “MM will continue to evolve and connect brands with customers, and we are excited to think of our future as one that is not defined by a set range of service pillars but has scope to move into any field where there is a need and demand.”

The commitment of the agency to deliver clients well resourced and responsive teams is a direct response to the pressure now facing brands, particularly those in retail, to stay at pace with a fast-moving customer and ever-changing advertising landscape.

“Clients need a partner who is equipped to help respond to the market and customer need faster than their competitors,” says Butler, “and this is something we excel at.”

The launch comes as the agency moves its Sydney office to a new larger location in Sydney.

Recent business wins include being appointed media agency for Metagenics Australia earlier this year. The client returning in a direct appointment after having worked with MM for 17 years while trading as Health World Ltd. The agency has also continue to bolster its digital and performance departments in the last 18 months with additional wins on Battery World, endota, Whitfords, Designer Appliances and Elite Appliances.
