Foo (l) and Pritchard (r): “We believe there are better ways to leverage communications to achieve tangible business outcomes”

Pritchard previously worked in Hong Kong as a managing editor and associate director of Facility Media in 2007 for over three years, followed by a one-and-a-half year stint with Regus as PR and communications manager across Asia-Pacific.

More recently he was a group account director at Launch Group in 2012 for three years, before his latest role at KPMG.

Employed for eight years previously as a technology journalist at The Australian, Foo made the transition to M&C as director in 2015 before ending her one-year stint to join Transition Level Investments in her latest role.

The new agency aims to change the way organisations communicate and deliver outcomes by creating a team to provide content, media relations and digital professionals.

Pritchard said: “In a world where traditional media is being impacted by a wave of disruption that threatens to upend established organisations, we believe there are better ways to leverage communications to achieve tangible business outcomes.

“The Kicker is a newspaper term for the piece of content in an article that really grabs your attention and makes you think or react. It’s that ‘magic moment’ that we aim to create for our clients. By bringing together a group of experienced professionals with the passion, experience and expertise not just to tell great stories but to tell the stories that will make a difference,” he said.

The new agency has clients in the technology, innovation and business sector, including start-ups and multinational services, such as: Steve Baxter from Shark Tank Australia, Stone & Chalk and technology start-up River City Labs.

Kicker has hired former freelance copywriter and videographer Lisa Creffield as head of content and Amber Dermoudy as head of digital who previously directed Toyota’s social accounts.

Foo said: “The Kicker team is made up of experts who have been living at the heart of Australia’s emerging start-up ecosystem over the past few years.”

“This has led to use a values-led approach to our business. We’re delighted to attract a fantastic collective of talented and passionate professionals, and we’ve been blessed to be starting with a great roster of forward-thinking clients.

“There’s a tremendous opportunity to bring together great people with great clients and give them the environment to do amazing work. It’s early days, but the signs are good and we are excited to help our clients kick some major goals in 2017 and beyond,” she said.
